How do you make money on YouTube

The Internet provides great avenues for users to earn money. One of the most effective ways of doing it is earning money from YouTube. To do this, a user has to create a channel in the first place. Now before earning, a channel must have a substantial number of a regular audience. For getting the audience, constant good quality content that viewers like watching are to be produced and uploaded on the channel. Though YouTube does not specify what kind of content a person can create, it has strict policy rules and guidelines regarding the content. Some of the content that may attract policy violations include, copying other’s content, hate videos or videos abetting terrorism, or the content that is considered profane.

After setting up the channel and attracting a good number of audience via quality content, the user can now go for monetizing his or her content by applying for the YouTube Partner Program or YPP. But to qualify for YPP, the channel to be monetized must have a good standing with YouTube, i.e. it strictly follows the policy guidelines. Also, it must have at least 1000 subscribers and 4000 valid public watch hours in the last 12 months. YouTube provides the tabs on all these stats. And once, the aforementioned threshold is achieved YouTube notifies the channel of its eligibility to apply for monetizing program. After applying, the page is again reviewed by YouTube to ensure YouTube Community Guidelines are not violated.

Afterward, if the review of the channel is given the green signal, the user has to sign the Partner Program terms and signup for Google AdSense account. Again the channel is reviewed against YouTube’s policies before accepting AdSense signup. Once the channel passes through this process, it is ready to earn money.
